Iluka Main Beach

Iluka Main Beach Iluka Main Beach

Main beach is a long sandy beach popular for surfing particularly at the wall and at the northern end. This is a dog friendly beach, but visitors must adhere to the signage. The adjacent car park has plenty of parking, toilets and cold water showers. Four wheel drive vehicles can be taken onto the beach at low tide after having first obtained a permit from council. At the northern end of the beach the remains of the old railway tracks can be seen at low tide with the occasional wheel emerging from the sands. This is a remnant from the tramway erected to carry rock from the headland used to create the stabilizing North Wall. A curious rock formation can be sighted and has been referred to as the Tsunami stack.
